The Feldenkrais Method changes lives by using experiential learning to change how we function as humans: how we move and how we breathe, how we relate to people, how we feel, how we pay attention and how we learn. These changes are made as our students feel and think their way through movement lessons, just as babies learn by exploring sensation and movement.
Verbally guided lessons are done in a group setting and are called Awareness Through Movement (ATM). ATM is a logical sequence of movements that further our students understanding of their bodies, heighten their perceptions and improve their coordination. The movements are pleasurable and become increasingly easy as the students learn from the movement. These lessons are designed to teach and improve specific functions that range from the basic, like chewing and swallowing, to the complex, like singing, dancing or riding a horse.
Functional Integration (FI) is a one on one Feldenkrais lesson, in which the practitioner moves the student's body as well as using words and touch to guide the student's attention and learning. The Feldenkrais practitioner spends years learning to communicate with their hands. Their specialized touch can be like an informative conversation on all levels of the nervous system. Private sessions allow the practitioner to focus their attention on the individual and can then meet very specific needs.

This class is for those wanting more individual attention than in a regular group class. Each student will practice a sequence of asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques) designed specifically for them, and receive personal guidance and adjustments as they practice. Limited to 8 students. Cost: $120 for 8 week series. In addition, a private session (at one-time additional cost) is also required to help develop the sequence unique for you.
